Roofing FAQs

Choosing A Contractor

Do you offer financing?

We absolutely do! To help our homeowners with their roofing expense, we offer various options for financing. If you would like more information, please give us a call or send us an email and we would be happy to send over more information.

Insurance & license is a must

Make sure that your contractor is licensed, has worker’s compensation and liability insurance. Ask to see a copy of the license and the verification of insurance document.

When it comes to roofing work, there are always going to be unlicensed handymen offering their services, often at a much lower price than a licensed roofing contractor would quote. However, you always get what you pay for. By hiring a low-cost, unlicensed contractor, you are giving up many of the benefits that come with choosing a licensed roofing contractor, and it may even cost you money in the long run.

Another important benefit of working with a licensed roofer is that the CSLB requires licensed contractors to carry insurance. This protects you against being liable for any costs should a worker damage your property or become injured on the job.

I received several estimates and the prices vary greatly

Never choose a company based on price. Cheap bids drive down the market and anyone with overhead and proper insurance has to establish pricing to cover such costs. If one estimate seems much lower than the others and it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Those that do work on the side or are just working out of a pick-up truck can always do the work cheaper. But in the long run, you get what you pay for. Customers that are sold on price as their sole criteria ultimately end up spending more money to fix problems, and many of these problems would have been covered under a workmanship guarantee by a reputable established roofing company.

New Constructions

We are pleased to offer our services for new construction projects. Our attention to detail, customized approach, and roofing expertise will help to get the job done right. We start the project with a thorough inspection of your home envelope, so we can properly plan out the roof system and know how to place the deck, how much insulation is needed, and which type of membrane should be used.

Please note, that at this time we are unable to provide estimates based on blueprints. Our team would be more than happy to do a site visit once the framing is complete. This will insure that we provide you with an accurate proposal that covers all project details.

During The Roof Project

How long will my project take?

The amount of time it will take to complete your roof project will depend on the size & complexity of your roof, if your old roof needs to be removed, the size of the roofing crew, and unforeseen issues with the roofing system. A small, uncomplicated roof may only take a couple of days to complete whereas a large, complicated roof structure with a number of problems may take more than a week.

What can I do to prepare for the installation of my new roof?
  • Clear vehicles: please move all cars, boats, campers, etc. out of your garage and driveway from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Saturday until the roof is finished.
  • Dust, Dirt and Debris: please cover all valuables in your attic, garage, and rooms that have open bean “tongue & groove” cathedral ceilings with no drywall or acoustical ceilings. During the tear-off phase, these areas may be exposed to dust and falling materials.
  • Vibrations: please remove or secure any lose items hanging on walls or stored in cabinets. These items may be jarred or shaken loose by vibrations from hammering or loading materials.
  • Access: please leave the side gate to the backyard unlocked so we can clean up after the tear-off is finished. If you have pets in your backyard, please leave a note with any special instructions or precautions to be taken by the crew.

Initial Roof Consultation

How long will the inspection take?

Depending on the size and details of your roof, an average inspection will take less than one hour.

Do I have to be home during the inspection?

For liability purposes, we require the homeowner to be present during the inspection.

What is involved in a roof inspection?

During the roof inspection, our Project Manager will climb up on the roof and do a thorough inspection and examine the condition of the roof. They will measure the area, inspect all materials and will generate a report on site. In some occasions, they do need access to the inside of the home to inspect the attic. The report will include all details of the suggested work, price and photos.

What type of roofs do you work on?

We work on all types of roofs that include: Shingles, Tiles, TPO, Modified Bitumen Torch Down and Metal roofs.

Is there a charge for the inspection?

We provide free roof inspections and estimates. Whether you have a leak, an old roof, or simply need to find out the condition of your roof, give us a call and we can schedule one of experts to come inspect your roof.

*Special Note:  We do charge a small inspection fee for homes that are for sale or in escrow. Please contact our office for more information.

Homeowner, Carlsbad

What a quality company.  The roofing crew were a “well oiled machine” that worked quickly and efficiently down to the smallest detail. (Even the neighbors noticed!)  We couldn’t be happier with our new roof and the quality of workmanship.

Homeowner, Escondido

After interviewing three roofing companies we decided on Roof Masters because of Rudy, the time he spent looking at the job, taking pictures of the roof to show me the problems and explain what the job would entail. The price was very reasonable to repair the tile roof. The work crew showed up on time & were very professional. Rudy came to inspect the job when it was finished. Overall we are very satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend The Roof Masters to anyone.

Homeowner, Temecula

Very happy with the entire experience. Rudy was a pleasure to work with and made sure that the job met all of my expectations. Work was done on schedule, at the agreed cost with excellent quality. His team even went above and beyond by color matching and painting some fascia boards that needed to be replaced.

Homeowner, San Diego

Rudy and his crew were beyond exceptional in every step of the process. They kept us informed on everything from the free estimate, to every step during installation, and even after the process to make sure we were satisfied with the work. The crew was courteous, arrived on time, finished the project within the time frame, and left the yard clean and tidy. Customer service and extraordinary attention to detail will certainly keep us as happy customers and we will (and have) recommend them to everyone!
